Creative Visioning of Paisley Library

Project outcomes – Multimedia film / Report / Workshops

Commission by Renfrewshire Leisure

After nearly 150 years in service, plans were set in motion to move Paisley Central Library from the building it shared with the Museum, to a new location in the High Street. Recollective was brought in to engage borrowers, young people, locals and staff in a Creative Visioning process to explore ideas for the new library.

We used behind the scenes tours, design workshops and creative writing exercises to gauge opinions and thoughts on the value of the Central Library to Paisley’s people, and develop a set of design principles for the new facility.
Our findings were compiled into a short multimedia slideshow, concept drawings, and a publication/ report.
