Made In Kirkintilloch

Project outcomes – Dialectogram / Anthology of Creative Writing

Commission by East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust / Heritage Lottery Fund

Made In Kirkintilloch was a project to restore Kirkintilloch Town Hall and establish an Industrial Heritage Centre within the building. Recollective artists Mitch Miller and Alison Irvine were commissioned to design and facilitate two of the project’s community engagement activities.

Mitch Miller is currently working on a Dialectogram of the Town Hall incorporating Kirkintilloch residents’ thoughts on the building events, drawing on extensive fieldwork and archive research. The completed artwork will be installed in the newly renovated Town Hall in Autumn 2018.

Alison Irvine ran a series of creative writing workshops with five community groups, encouraging them to tell their stories and memories of living and working in Kirkintilloch. She edited an anthology of participants’ writing, Made In Kirkintilloch.
