Now Your Turn Glasgow

Recollective worked with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain on their Easterhouse Oral History Project (Now Your Turn, Glasgow). Working with the young people of the NYT’s open access drama group at Platform at the Bridge (now the Young Company) we interviewed thirty-two local people. The interviews and transcripts are archived at the Scottish Oral History Centre.

Chris made nine video portraits of the participants which were shown in the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Athletes’ Village. Alison wrote a play ‘Generations’ based on the oral histories. The play was directed by Emily Reutlinger and performed by the young people at Platform at the Bridge, Easterhouse.

The project received Heritage Lottery Fund support, and material gleaned from the project was incorporated in the NYT’s Team Welcome Ceremony performances at the Athletes’ Village for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
